Interview with Mainliners, 30 August 2004

NB - Tell me the Mainliners story - when and how did you meet etc?
M - In the late 1990 ten small boys meet in the shallow end of the local swimmingpool and together they believed that they were strong enough to take a swim to the deep and dark end of the pool. But that was not the case. Cuz when the boys started their journey, they were one by one forced to meet the Man. At the end there were only five left. As they were floating there in the cold cold water, looking at each other and realized that they weren't small boys anymore, no sir, NOW WE WERE MEN!!

NB - Please tell me about band members?
M - We five Mainliners are all from different mothers but from the same stallion. That makes us very complete as a band.

Robert Billing,Singer :A big voice acting like a marionette puppet when he's taking over the stage.

Niklas Nordstrom,Guitar :With three different rythms in his body at the same time, he rear's like a wild copulating horse when playing his riffs.

Erik Daghall,Drumms :Well this little prince is a hard hitting mystery.

Mathias Wennergren,Guitar :The flower from the ditch and the last one to be cut free from the umbilical cord.

Magnus Granstrom,Bass :He caresses his instrument like he fondles his women.

NB - Where in Sweden are you exactly?
M - All five of us are from Ludvika a small industriall town in the middel of Sweden about 20 miles northwest of Stockholm.A shit hole to be exactly!!

NB - How do you spend cold winter days?
M Like all other swedes we spend cold winter days in the nearest sauna, stroking, washing and hugging each other.

NB - Which bands are your main influence?

NB - You listen to 60s stuff a lot I guess. But tell me what you think about new garage bands and which are your favorites?
M - Of course we listen to a lot of 60s but we dont listen so much on new garage but there are some good bands like King Khan from GER and Strollers from SWE.

NB - Any crazy things that happened on your gigs?
M - Not on the stage but offstage the weirdest things has hapened. And of course all that regular "throwing the tv out of the window" rock n'roll shit to, like we have been baned for life on a Hotell for having to much fun!! the bill landed on 1500 euro but we did not learn much of that, we are still having fun! but in a different way, the naked way!
