THE VESTIGES "THE PROMISED CITY EP" CDep, Particle Accelerator Records 2004
The Vestiges are kinda power pop with alternative rock influences. Pretty soft with complicated arrangements and not really catchy songs. Maybe somebody would like it, but it's not really my taste. It would be better if the songs are more up tempo and more punky.

THE YOUNGMAN PSYCHO BLUES "TEENAGE ROCKS" CD + "AFTER SCHOOL BREAKOUT" CD

Youngman Psycho Blues really kick ass. It's pity they are almost unknown in Europe, 'cos these guys really deserve much more. Youngman Psycho Blues melted 77 style punk, garage, 50s rock'n'roll and trash punk in their own style with very tasty Japanese spices. They are crazy and insane, but also very wild and super cool 1000000% rock'n'roll. "Teenage Rocks" has 7 tracks. All 7 are great, including manic "Summertime Blues" cover. When you listen Youngman Psycho Blues, everything you can do is scream and shout. Their 2nd album "After School Breakout" is even better. Production is just a little bit more raw, what gives extra fuel to their angry energetic sound. The song titles are in English, but the lyrics are mostly in Japanese. I don't care, I like it a lot. My faves are "Mods Not Dead", "Surf Kid Destroy" (instro), "Please Mama Please" + this time manic cover of "Route 66". The only objection is that you get only 7 tracks per album and I want more more and more.

THE YOUNG WEREWOLVES - S/T CD, 2004
The Young Werewolves are totally new to me. This is their 1st album and it's a great one!!!! One girl and 2 guys melted few, a bit different styles - psychobilly punk garage and surf - into weird horror r'n'r. You can hear the ghosts of early Misfits and Cramps, but also Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13. Catchy punkabilly songs with tasty titles: "Curse Of Cocaine Mummies", "Dead End Friend", "Graveyard Of Love", "Zombie Carchase". I really like their image and name. But when you hear the album, you know you have something extraordinary in your hands. 13 real killer tracks that will make your flash creep + bonus track - real cool cover of "White Wedding". Be aware of The Young Werewolves!!!!

V.A. "NOT PSYCHO ENOUGH!?" VOL.1 7"EP, Dull City Records 2004
Never been a big fan of Cosmic Psychos, but I have respect for their music - specially their attitude. I saw them live twice and it was good fun. "Not Psycho Enough" is really fantastic. Mormones and Bad Preachers are totally crazy. Mormones are from Norway and I never heard about them before. They do a really kick ass cover of "All Right Tonight". Great fuzz guitars. Bad Preachers from Belgium are not so unknown. Their version of "Custom Woman" is super heavy and fast as hell with lot of wah wah fuzz solos + punk energy. Sloggy from Luxembourg do really weird version of "Lost Cause" - fuzz guitar vs jungle beats and weird noises. Cool girl vocal gives special dimension. Superhellicopter Ltd are maybe the best band to cover Cosmic Psychos. Their version of "Down On The Farm" is fantastic - very loud fuzz riffs and lot of punk energy. Dull City Records rules!!!!
