THE LOST MOVEMENTS "DRAG ME UP" 10", Lonestar Records 2004
Wooooooooooooooow, this is fantastic!!!!! After so many garage punk bands I heard, there are still bands that can kick me straight into head, just like I'm playing Gravedigger V or Fuzztones for the first time. Lost Movements are 100% my taste. They do it just the way I like - manic, fast, a bit trashy, with organ, great guitar solos and really super cool singer who knows how to scream. But that's not enough to be so great, you also need great songs. The Lost Movements definitelly have it. It's just 6 tracks 10" and I wish it was 12" with more songs. The worst thing is that they played here in Holland and I missed them. So I really really hope they will come to play here again cos this 10" really blew my mind.

LUCIFER STAR MACHINE "DEATH BABY" 7"EP, Blacktongue Records 2004
Pretty cool UK horror glam punk produced by Rat Scabies (ex Damned). Well, as I said not bad, but unfortunatelly not so mindblowing. Idea is OK, but it should be more trashy and dirty to be real. So called shock rock/horror rock is pretty in and it seems like Lucifer Star Machine are trying to get their peace of cake. They do it a bit different, more punky. Maybe kids will like it, but I'm not very impressed.

THE MAINLINERS "BRING ON THE SWEETLIFE" CD, Get Hip Recordings 2005
If you are a true No Brains reader, you already read reviews of Mainliners demo and 1st 45. Finally I have their album in my hands - and it's really something special. Mainliners brought modern garage to its perfection. Strong 60s influence mixed with alternative indie rock. To avoid further missunderstandings - I'm not talking about new White Stripes or Hives or Libertines, but really fantastic Swedish band - The Mainliners. Everything on this album is so great, from songs till great guitar sound and one of the best singers ever (I totaly melt when I hear Robert). All tracks are my favorites and simply this album is a real masterpiece. Go get it, play it every day and enjoy it.

THE MONEY "IT'S A SHIT BUSINESS" CD, Wild Eagle Records:2004
Great 77 style punk, a bit trashy - Money are from Brisbane. CD is recorded live in Melbourne Hotel 2004. Soundquality is surprisingly great and has studio quality. 8 dirty, raw and trashy songs. 2 cover: "What Is Love" (Dead Boys) and "Gonna Feel Alright" (Teengenerate). The MOney songs are more or less in same style and it's almost impossible to pick favorites. Great CD and I hope to hear more from this band.

NASTY KIXX "HOMETOWN BLUES CD, Shotgun Generation Records 2005
Nasty Kixx is weird Swedish band that combines garage punk, power pop and alternative indie rock. Something like The Hives, but much better and wilder (I'm talking bout early Hives stuff). I prefere Trashcan Dan's vocal. Catchy power pop punky riffs are combined with organ sound and it sounds really cool. As I said cool vocal. 10 songs, pretty much the same quality - hard to pick faves, but let's try: "The Next Girl In Line", "Ain't It A Shame", "You Were Right" and "It's Alright" (my fave with slight glam punk touch, nice piano - remids me a bit of Radio Birdman). Great cover of Hanoi Rocks' "Tragedy" closes this great album.
