HOT BOOGIE CHILLUN "15 REASONS TO R'N'R" CD, Drunkabilly Records 2005
Hot Boogie Chillun is really great surprise. They play great mix of blues, r'n'b, rockabilly and trash garage. It's all melted together in great and original sound. Good production (but still primitive and dirty, just the way it's supposed to sound), fantastic songs - all is great here, great vocal. One of the best CDs I heard lately. Guys from Hot Boogie Chillun know to rock really good, but also make good sphere in a bit easier songs. Great arrangements, here and there flavored with Hammond organ and backing girl vocals, sax and horn section. Most songs are band originals with few covers. My faves are: "What Happened To Me", "Oh Well" (really good done Fleetwood Mac cover - maybe the best version I've heard), "Butterfly", "I Wanna", "Love And A 45" (great instrumental with fuzz guitar and Hammond organ - kinda groovy garage), "Good Coking", "Penetration", ... actually all songs are my fave and there is really no point in trying to name faves. This album is a real masterpiece.

HOWLING DIABLOS "CARWASH" CD, Alive Records 2005
Howling Diablos are really great band from Detroit that play some kind of raw and primitive r'n'b/blues. They started as backing band for blues/r'n'b musicians like: Earl King, Johnny Adams, Albert Collins and Johnnie Johnson. Musically this is nothing really new, but it's done really great with lot of late 60s and early 70s influences - stuff like John Mayall And Bluesbreakers or Canned Heat. The whole CD has pretty primitive and wasted sphere, maybe mostly because of raw and good done production, but also great Tino Gross vocal. Great solo guitar by Mike Smith played with lot of emotions and with great acid sphere. All that makes Howling Diablos sound different from other ordinary blues bands that you can see in local pub during the week. "Carwash" is small r'n'b/blues masterpiece. 10 great songs - 9 originals and "Gone So Long" RL Burnside Cover. I must not forget great Johnny Evans who plays jazzy sax and harp.

THE JUICY ZOOTERS "TALKIN' TRASH" CD, Deviltown Records 2005
I was standing behind my stall on Rotterdam Rumble festival in September last year waiting for the whole thing to start. Some noise came from the cafe where few bands played as worming up for the big thing. Sounded pretty cool, so I went to see what's happening. Four 15-16 year old guys, dressed really classy in black suits and pink ties were smashing their guitars and screaming "come on baby suck my dick". Fucking hell - I realized that trash punk garage scene really needs some young blood and Juicy Zooters are the best thing that could happen (you can forget Black Lips - sorry guys but wasn't really impressed with your show). Fuck all 30+ bands, this is the real thing - you just can't compare the energy and enthusiasm of these guys with their older colleagues. And above all The Juicy Zooters picked the right sound (as if they asked me) - they learned their lessons listening to stuff like Spider Babies and Henry Fiat's Open Sore. They really sound like you put these 2 bands together. Killer stuff!!! I bought their CD immediately, of course and that's what you all should do. All songs kick ass - straight to hell simple and kinda catchy trash punk - and before you know it, CD is finished and you press play button again and again... Hopefully in next update - interview with these guys!!!

KOMA "TSUNAMI" CD, Fullsteam Records 2004
Koma are from Sweden and they play some kind of stoner rock with grunge influences and it's spiced with Radiohead kinda vocal. Not bad, but not really my taste. I don't like Radiohead and I don't like grunge, but if you do, you'll probably like Koma. Stoner rock is OK.

THE KONKS "S/T" CD, Bomp Records 2005
These guys start really cool. Like great mix between Spider Babies, Monsters, Cramps and 60s punk - very trashy primitive songs, loud fuzz guitar that makes your ears bleed. Later it becomes more r'n'b and rockabilly - bit like Cramps and Billy Childish. Cool band with vocalist that remind me of famous US 60s garage psych Chocolate Watch Band - specially the screams.
