NIFTERS "ALLEIN/REALITY WILL KILL ME" CD, Black Juju 2004
Nifters are from Sweden and I think I already heard them on a split 7". If I remember good they had more 70s sound. On this CD that sound is disappeared. It's a bit hard to compare them with some other band. There is a bit of grungy (Nirvana) sound, but not so heavy and metalish, also some gothic and psychedelic moments, noise, loud guitars, fuzz. In few words - Nifters are schizophrenic and chaotic gothic grunge punk. As always, great stuff from Black Juju.

POWER SOLO "IT'S RACEDAY ... AND YOUR PUSSY IS GUT!!!" CD, Crunchy Frog Records 2004
Power Solo is weird psychobilly mixed with different stuff (garage, hillbilly, tex mex...), pretty wasted and crazy. Try to imagine Jon Spencer Blues Explosion jamming with Cramps and Violent Femes. I think they are from Norway, but I'm not sure. They have their own style, when you put it all together and this album is really great. It's very original and it hits you straight to head. These guys are crazy and they can bite, like this pitbull on the sleeve. Among other guests on this CD you can also hear Andre Williams.

| RIO GRANDE "PARTNER IN CRIME/SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH MY HEAD", Transmission Records 2004
Transmission records is label of Loverboy (Sons Of Cyrus - check the interview!). Rio Grande are Swedish action punk attraction. Strong 70s influence - think MC5, glam rock bands and Roky Erickson. Both tracks are mindblowing with Kristina on vocal. Robert Dahlqvist (Hellacopters) is guest guitarist on "Partner In Crime". I hope to hear more from Rio Grande and Transmission Records.

| ROBERT AND THE ROBOTERS "CANICHE ROYAL" CD/LP
Champions of exotic surf are back with their 3rd album "Caniche Royal". If you doubt that Robert And The Roboters wouldn't be able to record as great album as their 1st two, you're soooo wrong. This album is simply fantastic. Style is little less surf and more exotic spiced with really great groove and funky. Surf guitars vs fuzzed wah wah acid sounds, Hammond organ, funkoid rhythms - this album is full of songs for crazy summer parties. Groovy funk, surf, easy exotica with flute and one vocal song - cool German funk with girl vocal. Neo 60s and neo 70s style, but I don't know any bands from that time that sound this great. I hear this CD many many times already and it's really time that they come to play in Holland, so I can see them live. If you don't have any Robert And The Roboters records in your collection, you don't know how to enjoy life!

| ROBERT AND THE ROBOTERS "LADYKILLER" 7"EP, 2005
Robert And The Roboters are not really fast with releasing the records, as I'm not with writing the reviews. After longer period here is their new 45 with a killer song "Ladykiller"!!! Fantastic groovy surf exotica instrumental with
great rhythm, organ vs guitar leads and great sphere. Unfortunately "Tanz Du Luder" we already know from their album and it's pity they didn't put some new song instead, but OK. B side is reserved for super super extraordinary
groovy Robotron remix of "Chi Chi Surf"!!! Rhythm simply kills you and drums and beats just make you dance like crazy!!! Groovy and space organ sound, jazzy sax and exotic surf guitar create great sphere!!! Forget stupid mod djs and their rare 60s and 70s records, Robert And The Roboters are old fashioned and modern in the same time and they have the best groove!!!
