BARBARELLATONES "INTERVIEW WITH A GLAMPIRE" CD 2006
New album of Barbarelatones, 2nd one I heard. "Interview With A Glampire" is huge step forward for Barbarellatones. Everything that I found less on last CD is gone and Barbarellatones found their own sound. Strange mix of 70s glam, gothic and early psych with some Eastern European gipsy pagan folk moments that give their music special mystical and old feeling. It sounds like the songs were recorded in Transilvania. Dark, glamorous, oldfashioned, but also somehow modern. It's not easy to describe this bands sound, you must hear it. Vocal reminds me of David Bowie, but still has own style. These guys work hard and have great talent and this CD is real masterpiece.

BLAKHIV "ANY WAY SHE WANTS IT" CD, Lucid Records 2006
Blakhiv are from Reykjavik (Iceland) and this CDep is recorded live on Radio Reykjavik, July 2005. As their promo sheet says - dirt and grime of AC/DC, the humor and rock of Darkness, and the raw energy of Stooges. It doesn't happen very often that my review agrees with the promo sheet, but this time Blakhive's sheet is 100% correct (hahaha). AC/DC riffs with Darkness vocal and junky r'n'r sphere and energy of The Stooges. Production is trashy enough to enjoy it. Blakhiv is Darkness from hell. Great CD!! I definitely want to hear more from this band.

BONNIE PARKERS "THE OLIVE FLOATING IN YOUR POISONOUS MARTINI" CD, Be Nice To Mommy
Garage punk with accent on punk. Short fast songs with heavy riffs and screamy vocal. There is a bit of Ramones in here - not the melody, but the speed and simplicity of the songs. Great CD. 11 songs just rush through your ears before you know it.

THE BUFFETS "SAUCY JACK" CD, Damaged Goods 2005
The Buffets are all girl tributer to Buff Medweys. This sounds like one more fraction of Headcoatees or one more girl band from Billy Childish's kitchen. Typical Headcoatees garage punk. Songs are good, raw and primitive. But, I think they could sound at least a bit different from The Headcoatees.

CAPGUNS'N'COKE - DEMO CD 2006
Modern punk in Rancid style with late 70s/early 80s influences and without ska songs. It's OK, but it's no punk that I like, it's MTV-like punk.
