THE SOULSHAKE EXPRESS S/T CDep, Pitshark Records
Pitshark is known label for high energy punk bands with strong 70s heavy hard rock influences. No stoner rock, but real punk. Soulshake Express are the real thing for this label and they are great. Cool groove, Hammond organ and great vocal. Not a band that you can hear every day. Combination of soul groove and Hammond organ with heavy rock, done pretty modern. It's pitty you get only 5 songs here, specially when 1st one is only intro. I really want to hear this one more great band from Sweden!! My fave here is "Feel It".

SPITZZ "TOUCHE PUSSYCATS" CD, Tario Records
Spitzz are from Somervile (MA). "Touche Pussycats" contains 12 a bit old fashioned punk tunes - in early 80s US pre hardcore style. Vocal is between Johnny Rotten and Jello Biafra, only Spitzz are more rockin' and rollin' than Dead Kennedys. Good songs, pretty different with good riffs, only production doesn't give the energy that Spitzz probably have live. Giutars are too buzzy, and that's pitty. Drums are too behind and sound is too unclear. But Spitzz are drfinitely worth checking out and I hope they'll have a better sound on their next album.

| STELLARSCOPE "LIVING UNDER THE RADAR" CD, Patetico Recordings 2005
One more band with Tommy Lugo. Stellarscope sounds better on this new CD. Songs are less complex. Alternative rock with gothic dark elements, but a bit monotone, so after few songs it gets a bit borring.

| STILETTOS DEMO CD
New recordings by Stilettos I got from the drummer Barry. I don't know if this is supposed to come out, or if the guys are still looking for the lable to release this. Anyway, in my last review I complained about the sound and I missed the bass guitar. But I must say I can't complain about this CD. Sound is really great with more bass, and I thought that would be impossible with drums and 1 guitar. But more bass in the sound is not the only improvement on Stilettos new CD. Everything is so much better, the songs are more compact. I can't say that songs are more melodic, but they keep hanging in your head easy and it's all more r'n'r. Of course load of punk and r'n'b and great harmonica solos. Great CD. My faves are: "I Don't Wanna Know You", "What's Wrong", "Ice Queen", "Wiseguy", "Dragging Me Down", "Gotta Go".

| STREET BRATS "SEE YOU AT THE BOTTOM" CD, Full Breach Kicks 2005
Street Brats are 77 style college punk - stuff you can hear in Hollywood teenage comedies. Honestly, maybe Street Brats are not bad, but I already heard this 100000... times. Songs are too similar and that starts to annoy you after a while. I hope Street Brats will work on this and that they'll develope thier own sound.
