BLANGO "ORGAN VIBRATOR-A-THON" CD EP, Uber Records 2006
Blango is 1 man band - "drummer that sings and uses pedals" as he says in his letter. Well, no singing here, or maybe that's part of this big nooooooooooise.
BUTCHERS BILL "LOVE KILLER" CD, 2006
Butcher's Bill are back with their 2nd album. Wooow, wooooow, woooooooooow - really great!!!!!! Songs are better than ever, production is really good, guitars are ripping my ears, great vocals... Punk energy melted in 70s hard rock, totally wasted. But old fashioned solo guitars, give this band this special modern old fashioned sound. 10 songs - one of them a cover "Crossroad Blues" (Messerschmitt). I have no favorites here, all songs are real killers. Knezevic/Tekovic are Jagger/Richards of hard punk rock. I hope they'll manage to come to Europe some day.

CRIMSON SWEET "BOULEVARD EP" 7"EP, Shake It 2004
Comparing with their CD-EP that I reviewed quite some time ago, this EP is more trash and underground and less alternative. But, musically they didn't change much. It's still kinda garage punk mixed with new wave and post rock (Sonic Youth sounds).

THE DANGERMEN "THE DARK PLACE" CD, Merenoise
The Dangermen are back with their new album "The Dark Place". After hearing it, they are one of my fave bands. I guess everybody is always a bit skeptical after band's great 1st album. But The Dangermen recorded even better and rawer album. Also it's more modern and that's why I like it so much. Songs are more evil and vocal is even better than on 1st CD. I hope The Dangermen will provide us with more great r'n'r in the future, cos we really need it. For anybody who didn't hear this band yet, it's time you get their CD!!! If you like early Saints, Australian punk and garage punk - The Dangermen are something for you. They are not trying to reincarnate the sound, they just play punk r'n'r the best way they can. It's pity Australia is so far, I bet this band is great live.

DEFECTORS "BRUISED AND SATISFIED" CD, Bad Afro 2006
I expected a good album with 13-14 garage punk standards with loud fuzz and 60s organ, but when I played "Bruised and Satisfied" I must say I was pleasantly surprised with Defectors' new sound. If you're neo 60s garage purist, I don't know if I could recommend you this CD. For me this is great step forward and I'm really glad to hear something like this. It's modernized 60s sound - 21st century garage punk we were waiting for for last 10 years. I hope this is only beginning and that garage punk will open up for different influences. Lot of gothic and industrial influences on 1st half of CD, well, don't expect Rammstein. But I think Defectors found their sound and I hope they'll go on like this. Dark sphere, fuzzed metallic guitars, spooky and scary keyboard, psychotic/psychobily solo guitar. Vocal is raw and powerful, but scary - better don't play this CD before going to bed, unless you want to have nightmares. The other half of this CD is more garage, but not so neo 60s like on Defectors previous albums.
