JESSIE GARON & THE SEXORCISTS
"Hell Street Blues" 7"EP
Pure Vinyl 2000
Jessie Garon & The Sexorcists play high energy punk strongly
influenced by late 60s early 70s Detroit sound & New York bands. Very
good songs, good solo guitar, trashy sound - what else do you need????
Jessie Garon & The Sexorcists rocks!!!!

THE JET BOYS
"I'M ALONE + 3" 7"EP
Get Hip Recordings 1998
Jet Boys - 77 punk on 90s trash way - so typical for many new Japanese
bands. I'm a big fan of this sound, so for me this is great 4 song ep.
I like their manic short songs. It's like New York Dolls on ecstasy.

MAD 3
"ATTACK OF THE MAD VIKER!" 7"
Shot Down Records
"Mad Viker" is chaotic, acid, hard rockin' hot rod madness. When
you listen to this song you can smell burned gasoline. Other side is reserved
for driving "Fire Ball" with great surfing guitar. There are also some
rockabilly influences. I have a feeling that "Fire Ball" is just too short.

MENSEN
"DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR" LP
Thunderwoman 2000
Mensen are 3 girls + 1 guy band from Norway. They play 100% pure
punk rock with supersonic speed, killing guitar riffs & nice melodies.
"Delusions Of Grandeur" is swinging LP & sounds much better than many
of your never-heard-of-killed-by-death bands. If I have to compare Mensen
with some punk band - they sound like girl version of early Saints. My
favorite songs from this LP are: "Wembley", "Tommy Lee", "Yeah!Yeah!Yeah!Yeah!"
& "Please Stay Away". At the end of each side there is a cover: "Jumping
Jack Flash" & Joan Jett's "Cherry Bomb".

THE MIGHTY GORDINIS
"KISS MY WHEELS" LP
Demolition Derby 2000
The Mighty Gordinis are new band from Belgium. Some members are coming
from Vice Barons. So if you expect surf - this is record for you. Vice
Barons were one of my favorite surf bands, but The Mighty Gordinis are
even better, wilder, crazier, ... There are lot of vocal songs which are
great surf punk. When you have distorted guitar and you play surf it's
impossible not to be compared with Ramones. Still Mighty Gordinis have
their own sound. Songs are pretty different. They play one vocal - one instro,
that makes this record very cool. My favorites are: "My Baby Wants To Brainwash
My Mind", "Next Stop Pussywille", "Theme From "Cream Pie"" & "Power
Jet". On b side you can hear some rockabilly influences & rhythm'n'blues
with harmonica, but also fuzz garage punk "Power Jet". With Mighty Gordinis
you can have great party whole night long.
