THE SATELLITERS
"WHAT'S UP WITH TIMOTHY DEE" LP
Screaming Apple Records
The biggest difference between "What's Up With Timothy Dee" album
and other Satelliters records is that we can finally see their faces -
Satelliters are unmasked!!! Musically - production & sound are great
& songs are much better than on a bit disappointing "...Shake! Shake!
Shake!" 10". It's raw and wild garage punk with great Steve's vocal. Every
song is great - there are 16 songs. If you are only 60s record collector
who is looking for unknown 60s bands who play great garage punk like Shadows
Of Knight, Sonics, ... - try The Satelliters. They are modern band, but
who cares - they are better than many of your rare & expensive records.

THE STROLLERS
"BRING HER HOME/STAY AWAY" 7"
Low Impact Records 1998
Wow, this is one more great Swedish garage punk band. Imagine The
Nomads from their best days mixed with early Creeps sound. Great vocal
with cheesy keyboard sound. "Bring her home" has great chorus and you can't
do anything else than play this song again and again ... When you once
turn this 7" you discover that "Stay Away" is even better. It's real wild
fuzz garage punk with marvelous guitar riff and solo. Vocal is great again
and here we have cheesy keyboard too. I'm really crazy about this combination
- fuzz guitar & keyboard and when you have such great band as Strollers
I can't do anything else but recommend this 7".

THE STROLLERS
"CAPTAIN OF MY SHIP" LP
Low Impact Records 2000
This is 2nd Strollers album. I heard this record few times
already. It's great record, but not so great as their 1st LP "Falling Right
Down". Strollers sound little bit more acid on this record, but it's still
raw 60s punk with lot of fuzz and cheesy keyboard. They continue with typical
Swedish revival garage punk sound from 80s. This record reminds me here
& there on early Creeps stuff. I like Mathias Lilja's vocal a lot.
Anyway I recommend this record, but if you don't have any Strollers record
in your collection, I think you'd better start with "Falling Right Down".

THE STUCKS
"SHAKE IT UP BABY" 7"EP
NGOO Records 1999
You can recognize some great records just by looking at the cover.
The Stucks looked good enough to me & when I came home & played
the record - I was right. "Shake It Up Baby" & "I'm Yours" could also
be songs from Teengenerate records. It's 77 style punk played on Japanese
trash way. On B side we have the trashiest version of "Midnight Hour".
Here they remind me a little bit of early Jam. Also next song "Feel All
Right" sounds like trashy Jam circa "In The City" album.

THE WILDEBEESTS
"SHE LIVES IN A TIME OF HER OWN"
Sympathy For The Record Industry 2000
A side is 13th Floor Elevators cover "She Lives In A Time Of Her
Own". Wildebeests version is pretty good but not so brilliant like their
other stuff. I also think that choice of covering this 13th Floor psychedelic
song is not really the kind of music we are used to hear from Wildebeests.
Don't understand me wrong - I like when band tries to do something bit
different, so maybe I should hear this song few more times. For me "Monkey
Loving Girl" is really great song which
doesn't deserve to be just on b side. It's mid tempo weird freak
beat punk, little bit trippy with really great vocal. I would rather put
this one on a side. I think you should get this 7" not because of 13th
Floor Elevators cover, but because of "Monkey Loving Girl".
