THE GIMMIES
"GET IT RIGHT NOW" 7"EP
Screaming Apple Records 2000

This is Japanese band from Tokyo. It's great rockin' 77 style punk & you already know Japanese bands do that great - that's why I'm big fan of Japanese punk & every new 7" like Gimmies is holiday for me. But if you expect trash sound like Teengenerate, Gimmies don't have it. Their production is great & they sound more old style. "Get It Right Now" is great punk'n'roll song, "Let Me In" is more early 70s high energy punk'n'roll with slide guitar and "Sister's Accuse" is again punk'n'roll. It's one more great record from Screaming Apple. I hope they will continue with such great bands and records, 'cos they already spoiled us & we can't expect anything else from them but great r'n'r.

THE MOORAT FINGERS
"I HATE TO LOVE YOU/I DON'T KNOW" 7"
no label 2000

Moorat Fingers is super fast trashy and mind blowing 77 style punk from Germany. Unfortunately there are no details about band or label or any other contact address. Anyway it's one of the greatest records I heard lately. Both songs are real killers with great guitar riffs, dirty vocal & catchy chorus. This is real 7" with two A sides. So if you see it - grab it - 'cos later you'll pay big money for it. I hope I'll hear more from Moorat Fingers.

PIGGIES
"60 DAYS" 7"EP
Pop Ball Records 1998

One more Japanese band - this time power pop. Piggies have pretty catchy and melodic songs with nice pumping guitar. It's 2 guys on bass & guitar and girl on drums. "60 Days" is first song on A side. It's nice teenage punk. "Wendy" is mid tempo power pop. "Honey Bunch" opens B side & it's sung by drummer girl. She sounds like Power Puff girls - very high girl voice. It's great song - sounds like Ramones go power pop. Last song on this EP is "Another Girl" and it's the best song on this 7". It's great power pop (again) with great catchy chorus and melodic guitar. Everybody who likes power pop must have this 7" in his collection.

SARTANA
"TRADE YOUR PISTOL FOR A COFFIN" 10"
I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison Records 2000

Very loud fuzz guitar & screaming vocals blow up your speakers from the first song on this 10". This great Italian band is inspired with late 60s/early 70s highway r'n'r. They mix it with punk & result is supersonic, fuzzy, wah wah & metallic hard punk rock. For all of you who like 1st Hellacopters album and similar stuff - try to get this record. Production is great, songs are great & sleeve looks great too.

THE SELL OUTS
"BLACK EYE/BAD SHIT" 7"
Rockin' Bones Records 1999

Sell Outs are great trash punk band from Brasil. Finally we can say "Sepultura fuck off - here are The Sell Outs" - ha ha ha. "Black eye" is super fuzz & super trash & super crazy song. It has really strange solo, not very usual for this kind of bands. "Bad Shit" is also great rockin' trash punk. This 7" definitely puts Brasil on garage trash punk map. It's one more great record from Rockin' Bones Records from Italy. So send some $$$ to Rockin' Bones & order it!!!
