SOVIET VALVES DEMO CD 2004
Soviet Valves are new Australian nu wave garage punk sensation. Different influences melted into own style - from kbd punk stuff like early Saints via early 80s new wave to 90s garage trash. This is their first demo CD with 6 loud, angry and raw tracks. Songs are short and furious - straight to the point with nervous guitar sound, schizo vocal, but still catchy. If you think that Franz Ferdinand are too commercial and the Hives are too 60s, just try Soviet Valves.

THE SUNDAY DRUNKS "ON THE PROWL" CD, Dead Beat 2004
Mind blowing 77 style glam punk'n'roll from Texas. Songs are supercool, catchy angry and rockin' - just the way I like. Great vocal! Well if you like very early GG Allin, Real Kids, early punk and proto punk stuff, you will love The Sunday Drunks. "On The Prowl" is great album - all 12 tracks are simply super and loaded with great riffs. One of the best punk albums I heard lately. I really can't choose my faves, but you definitely have to hear these great tunes: "Here To Stay", "Always Home", "Hard Drinkin' Woman", "What You're Doin' ", "Sunday Drunk", "The Possum", "Gimme A Chance" ...

TV SMITH "XMAS BLOODY XMAS" CDEP, Damaged Goods 2004
I hate christmas and "Xmas Bloody Xmas" is just cynical and funny song about christmas, but not really my taste. TV Smith should have called it "Xmas Fucking Xmas", maybe I would have liked it more then. Musically song is very chrismasy, with jingle bells and xmas sphere, also a bit too long - over 4 min. After this there are 3 well known UK 77 punk songs recorded live at last year's Bloody Xmas concert in Duesseldorf. Sounds more raw and punk than "Xmas Bloody Xmas". CD and 7" will be available end November.

UNDEAD, 2003
Director: Michael Spierig
Cast: Felicity Mason, Mungo McKay, Rob Jenkins, Lisa Cunningham, Dirk Hunter, Emma
2000s are definitely the years of zombie movies. I saw so many great zombie movies lately and "Undead" is one more in the line. Most of them were quite original - also most of them were not Hollywood movies. Undead has some innovations as well. Story is really great and unpredictable, actors are outstanding as well as special effects. Lot of blood and greasy scenes. Science fiction elements as well as non stop action and good humor. Really great Australian movie. Strongly recommended!!!
EL ZOMBIE "STINKY" 7"EP, A Fistful Of Records 2004
El Zombie is my favorite Dutch band at the moment. This is their 2nd EP. 1st one was great, but this one is super super. I saw them live few times and they were always great. They are duo - guitar + drums, but they also use harmonica. Great, primitive trashy r'n'b punk. Production is fantastic - modern and old fashioned at the same time. 4 tracks, all 4 killers - 3 vocal + instro "Stinky" with great harmonica. Well, my faves are "Extinct Myself" and "I Got A Hit". 1st release on new label from Utrecht, Netherlands - A Fistful Of Records. Only 300 numbered copies, so be fast to get one. El Zombie really kick ass.
