THE HOLLYWOODS
"THE HOLLYWOODS DO THE HYPNOTIC WALK" 7"EP
Black Juju 2002
More great stuff from Black Juju. There are so many bands coming from Scandinavia, and all really good, I can't believe this. Seems they stole all
r'n'r energy from the rest of the world. Where do they hide all these bands - I want to go there and find them all - hee hee. The Hollywoods are super
trashy hypnotic surf. Really nice catchy songs with super guitar solos and nice melodies - what else do you need for perfect surf sound - these 3
masked guys got it all.

THE JEWWS
"L'EXPLOSION DU SON DE MAINTENANT" LP
Demolition Derby 2002
Finally I have it. I was waiting for it to get in the record shops here, but it took way too long - so I had to get it in Germany. I was really excited
about it 'cos I loved that 7" and this LP is killer. The Jewws are starting to be my fave new band. I like everything about this band: first and most
important great catchy songs, great vocal, trashy sound, fast songs filled with energy ... I hope to have their 10" soon - I must have everything from
this band. There is no bad song on this LP, there is no good song on this LP - there are only great songs on it!!!! What I love about The Jewws is that
they are crazy and unpredicable - they have more 60s garage sounding songs, or more punk sounding ones, but they even go surf, r'n'r or r'n'b. And
they have these weird song endings that are sometimes funny. My faves are: "My Baby Don't Rock And Roll", "When Your Man Is Gone" and
"Bad Lovin' Thing" on A side. No wait, "Mercury To Mars" is a fucking killer too and "You're Gonna Lose" too and "Girl Gets Around" and the
surf one that stops suddenly and somebody says "I don't like this surfin' shit" - hahaha. I told you there are only great songs here, the whole A side
just rocks to the max. First instro took you to the moon and the second one (first on B side) will take you to Saturn and after that you get ride to
Space City. The Jewws will blow you into space cos they go on with same energy on B side!!! Ok I won't write the names of the songs on B side
too - when you get LP you'll see them. And if you don't get the LP, you're missing a whole lot.

THE KAISERS
"SHAKE ME!" LP
Get Hip Recordings 2002
The Kaisers' (new Beatles) new LP is really good, maybe the best of their LPs. It took quite long till it got to record shops here, so I know I'm a bit
late with this review - hee hee. If you are beat lover or Beatles fan and still don't know The Kaisers, make sure to get their records. This is just
perfect beat in Beatles way. The sound, vocals, great catchy songs and nice melodies - everything is so Beatles beat, only instead of
Lennon/McCartney it's Miller, or Miller/McIntyre... My fave on A side is "Jenny G" - great harmonica beat and on B side "Foolish One" with that
Lennon sounding vocal, "Miserabella" one more catchy harmonica driven' beat and really nice instrumental "Little Bird". Well, I guess most of you
already have this LP so there is no need to write more about it. For the ones who still don't have it - I highly recommend it!!

KING KHAN AND HIS SHRINES
"THREE HAIRS AND YOU'RE MINE" LP
Voodoo Rhythm 2001
I'm late with reviewing this one too, I know. This is one more record I couldn't get in record shops here, but luckily King Khan And His Shrines
played here, so I was able to buy this LP and even see them - hee hee. Ok, I'm totally not into this kind of music, but King Khan And His Shrines
really got me when I saw them live and I listen to this LP quite often. This is ultra crazy, mega shakin' rockin' soul and I love it. Vocal is really really
great, songs are catchy - it's enough you hear them once and they posses your ears and your brain, and all you want to do is move to King Khan
And His Shrines' groove. My faves are "Saba Lou" and "Mashed Potato Itch". Make sure to see this band live, but be careful - they will put a spell
on you.

THE LITTLE SEARCHERS
"BIG PIECES OF BRAIN" CD
Insect Eyes Records 2002
Huh, it's really difficult to say what kind of music this band plays. I can say it's weird and it's kinda psychedelic with touch of brit pop and indie.
To be honest when I put this CD in my CD player, I thought - oh, no - one more of these boring indie bands. But this is definitely not one of these
boring indie bands. I like The Little Searchers. They have this pleasant craziness in their music and songs and sphere remind me of Syd Barret or
some later Beatles stuff. It's music you can play on a sunny day or on a rainy day (doesn't really matter), lie in your bad and daydream the whole
day.
