M-16's
"LOSIN' TIME/SWEET LUCK" 7"
Beelzebub Club Records 2001
More high energy r'n'r, this time from Australia. This kind of bands just seem to be popping up from everywhere these days. Well, I'm glad about
that 'cos I love this shit. What can I say, if you dig MC5, Hellacopters + the rest you will like this. What makes this band a bit more special is really
great vocal.

THE MYSTERY GIRLS
"THE MYSTERY GIRLS" CD
Trick Knee Productions 2002
Teenage garage punk, and I mean it - these guys are teenagers (the oldest one is 19). Now we can speak about 'teen scene'. This is really good. Raw
teenage garage punk/r'n'b/high energy r'n'r. These kids are really rockin' and rollin'. I love their psychotic sound, distorted vocal and I just go crazy
when I hear harmonica. My fave is "Musty Shade Of Brown" with really weird organ, well the whole song is totally weird and has this really
strange sphere - sounds like Mystery Girls were on acid when they recorded it. Actually, the more you hear, the further this CD goes, you like it
more and more - Mystery Girls really get you. I really can't wait to hear more from The Mystery Girls.

THE RICHMOND SLUTS
"SWEET SOMETHING/SAD CITY" 7"
Disaster Records 2002
Finally new stuff from Richmond Sluts - new kings of glam punk. And they rule. This 7" is fucking great. "Sweet Something" is just soooooooooo
great - with that wonderful glamorous sound, great organ and even greater rockin' piano - New York Dolls would be jealous to hear this. Side B is
"Sad City" - we already know this one from their LP, but this is new - 2002 version. Well, it sounds great, but I want to hear more new songs and I hope
Richmond Sluts are preparing new album. They are one of not many bands that I spin quite often and I need more than one LP and one 7".

SPLIT ROBERT AND THE ROBOTERS/LE MOKO CUBE
"JUTTA AUS KALKUTA" 7"
2002
I'm glad there is more vinyl with Robert And The Roboters. I just love this band and their strange instrumental experiments. And I'm so glad they
are experimenting with sounds 'cos they are getting better and better. Don't get me wrong, their CD is a surf killer, but I'm just glad the guys are
getting even better. "Jutta Aus Kalkuta" is sitar surfin' arabic instrumental, sooooooo groovy and hypnotic - if you close your eyes it will take you
places you can't even imagine. More weirdness on the other side - Le Moko Cube "Jutta Au Pair In Rio". Le Moko Cube seems to be a DJ that's
mixing "BRAZIL, BOSSA, NU JAZZ, BREAKBEATS ... 60's SOUL, LATIN, RARE GROOVE, BOOGALOO ... ROOTS REGGAE, RAGGA,
DRUM'N BASS" as he says on his website - and there is lot of real audio there that I'm gonna listen to. What can I say - "Jutta Au Pair In Rio" is
mega groovy and even if it's a DJ, it has soul - a whole lot of it. So all of you who are still close-minded about drum'n'bass, breakbeats or anything
that's new, you should really change your mind and hear this. This 7" is a killer.

V.A. "PUSHING SCANDINAVIAN ROCK TO THE MAN! VOL. III" CD
Bad Afro Records 2002
More Scandinavian rock action from bad Afro. CD starts with Sweatmaster's souly, groovy and rockin "I Am A Demon And I Love Rock'n'Roll".
Their LP is coming out in November and keep that in mind. Next is Baby Woodrose with great trashy, surfy and garagey "Never Coming Back" -
watch out for their album in 2003. Then comes one of my faves The Royal beat Conspiracy - wooow wooow wooooooooow "Try Me" is great
great greaaaaaaaat and grooooooovy with mad synth noises. Vegas V.I.P. one more band from Sweden with "Nightrider" - catchy rockin' and surfin'
killer with great vocals. The Chronics are rollin' and shakin' "Slippin' And Slidin' ". On Trial seem to exist for 15 years and they are on this CD with
mad souly high energy "Higher" - their LP is one more thing you should be looking for soon. The Species had to release album on their own, but I'm
sure soon some label will be interested in this great high energy rockin' garage punk. Laundrettes - "Nobody But Me" fuckin' great rock'n'roll punk
with great female vocals - I should definitely get their LP. Ok we all know The Maggots and you should also know "Leave Me Alone" that's on their
latest album, well if you still don't have it, it's your problem. More great stuff with The Borderlines and "Come On, Hold On" souly garage punk
with great rockin' piano. Oh, The Mutants are here too, this time with great new soul "Kung Fu" instrumental action. "You Lose" your mind when
you hear The Burnouts and you definitely go nuts when you hear The Defectors, one of the finest organ-driven garage punk bands at the moment. I
don't have to say anything about The Flaming Sideburns, I just hope they will come to "Blow The Roof" in Holland again. Last song on this CD is
killer girl garage punk "PMS 666" by Thee Ultra Bimboos. I have a feeling when you go Scandinavia, bands grow on trees and you can just pick
them up - there are so many bands there and they are so good.
