THE CYNICS
LIVING IS THE BEST REVENGE CD
Get Hip recordings 2002
I was pretty skeptical about this CD - after so many years, can Cynics sound so good?! And I must admit, the Cynics still got it - they still have
that great garage groove, fuzz riffs that will wake up your neighbors and great screaming vocals that I really love. My faves are "Turn Me Loose",
cover of 13th Floor Elevators' "She Lives (In A Time Of Her Own)", "Revenge" and "I Got Time".

THE DIPLOMATS OF SOLID SOUND
ALLIGATOR BOOGALOO 7"EP
Butterfly Records 2002
Thanks to Butterfly Records for releasing this great band. I enjoy their debut single and CD and I'm glad to hear more. This is one of the grooviest
bands I ever heard. Their music is so perfect, but warm and it makes me melt when I listen to it. If you like to relax listening to Booker T And The
MG's, Metters or if you like to watch Blaxploatation movies - you will like The Diplomats Of Solid Sound. Great organ, great songs, great
musicians and production brought to perfection. This band will leave you speechless.

THE GENE DRAYTON UNIT
DUE BOTTONI/JUICY LUCY 7"
Butterfly Records 2002
This is 2nd 7" of Gene Drayton Unit on Butterfly Records. Well, these are the only 2 records of this band I know and I like both of them. Really
moody soul - "Due Bottoni" with great Hammond organ and sax. Jazzy "Juicy Lucy" - this time piano and tenor sax. When I close my eyes, I find
myself drinking and having great time in smoky and sweaty pub with this great band playing.

GUITAR WOLF
UFO ROMANTICS LP
Munster Records 2002
Kings of trash r'n'r are back and they are great as always. I don't think it's necessary to say much about this LP. It's all about r'n'r, bikes, babes,
radiation generation, jet beer, orange juice (?! yeah orange juice - hee hee) and UFOs - and it's on white vinyl.

LAZY LANE
SEA WITCH 7"EP
Butterfly Records 2001
To be honest I don't really know how to describe this band. First song, "Sea Witch", starts with really nice solo guitar backed up with organ,
electric bass and drums, then it gets really mystic and gothic when Lily starts to sing. "The Girl Upstairs" is slow, dark and dreamy electro wave
psych. "Waking Up Buttercup" is more psychedelic with really nice folky flute and it's my favorite on this EP so far. It's mystical but kinda dark
and makes your flesh creep. "Time Wrap" is only song here with male vocal and it reminds me a bit of Syd Barret. I like this record, it's different
from the most stuff you get to hear today. WOW, Butterfly Records always surprise me with really strange, weird and great new bands!!!
