THE MIGHTY STARS
GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS! / LET'S PLAY! / SUZANNE CD EP
2002
The Mighty Stars are really nice surprise - great and catchy garage teen
pop. This is a band girls should go crazy about. "Girls! Girls! Girls!"
has
funny lyrics and great chorus and is my favorite on this EP. "Let's
Play" has a touch of rock'n'roll and I love it. "Suzanne" is slower and
more
indie/power pop - really nice with great chorus that will hang in your
ear. There is something about this band that gets into you and you must
love
them. I can't wait to hear more!!

THE MONSTERS
I SEE DEAD PEOPLE LP
Voodoo Rhythm Records 2002
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, Monsters new LP really kicks ass. It's a bit more
garagey than their other stuff, but it's really brilliant - it will just
blow your mind. There is sooooo much fuzz - that special Monsters fuzz
sound, it's soooo dirty, raw and acid. Monsters will just mess your mind
with their voodoo magic
- they already messed mine. My favorites are "Kiss You Dead" - great
fuzz riff, surfy solo guitar, screams from far beyond this world, and
creepy "... And Then You Cry" that reminds me of "For Your Love" (Yardbirds). This is one of the best records
released this year.

MUSIC/NINJA 7"EP
Standard Sjobuse Records 2002
This is weird and I like this. Music/Ninja is indie punk with some Fall
and Sonic Youth influences. I'm not into indie and I don't like Sonic
Youth,
but these guys are punk enough for me to like them. What I like is that
songs are short, so at the point that some boring indie band would start
to irritate
me, Music/Ninja make it short and stop. So I like it. It's long time ago
that I liked something that has indie sound and I thought I never will
again -
but Music/Ninja changed my mind.

THE MYSTERY GIRLS
TURNED ON, TUNING IN 7"EP
Bancroft Records 2002
I loved Mystery Girls CD and I'm glad to have piece of vinyl by them.
"Turned On, Tuning In" is great noisy and chaotic garage punk - really
loud
and wild. "Everybodys Talking" on B side is even better and more catchy
and "Killing Floor" is a real killer - my favorite on this EP and one of
the
best songs I heard lately - short, trashy and energetic punk'n'roll with
great vocal. Hurry up to get your copy cos there are only 500.

THE NEDERBIETELS
CAN'T YOU SEE 7"EP
Klootzak Records 2002
The Nederbietels is new Dutch band with members of Perverts, 7 Zuma 7
... As far as I can see they cover 60s nederbeat songs. So if you're 60s
collector you know all this killers and this
won't be anything new for you, but you should get this 7" anyway cos
Nederbietels are just great. They do it with lot of fun and more energy
and sound really fresh. This is NOT some ordinary cover-band. I saw them
live not so long ago and it was great
fun. And here you get great versions of: Johnny Kendall And The Heralds
and Motins ("It's Gone" is one of my nederbeat faves).
