| MYSTERIOUS ASTHMATIC AVENGER "MY MOTHER KILLED ROCK AND ROLL" 10", Ken Rock 2003 |
 |
You definitely didn't hear anything as crazy as this. Well you can guess from the sleeve that this is not the usual stuff. Mysterious Asthmatic
Avenger is almost out of tune French country yodel madness. Mysterious Asthmatic Avenger "Saw The light" when "Rock'n'Roll Killed His
Mother" and now he's on his revenge mission using loads of "Atomic Power from Nagazaki" that "was given to him by mighty hands of god"
and of course "L.S.D". From time to time he stops to take a break and have a little fun with "Techno Jungle Bop" or "Banjo Stomp". Like any
other superhero Mysterious Asthmatic Avenger has his side-kicks - Watzlovers, Pneumonia and Jesus who's special skill is "walking on the water".

Wooooooooooooooooommm, this is fast fast fast. This kind of stuff is very in now. Well, it's fine with me. I like guys playing dirty, fast, devil
worshiping rock'n'roll. I must admit that here, I like "pure side" more than "evil side" - hahahaha. Nothing to do with pure and evil, of course.
"Mattress Najesty" is just a bit catchier than "Evil Possessor" - that's all.

| TRAUMA QUEENS "THE MALEVOLENT SOUND OF THE ..." CD, Algebra II Records / Chapter 11 Records 2002 |
 |
Very bloody cover art, well the lyrics are in the same way - I like this. And here is somebody from Richmond Sluts, so that's a + too. How I
would describe Trauma Queens - Hives meet King Khan meet Fuzztones meet Pretty Things = great screamy vocals + garage madness + bluesy
and souly feeling to all that. I think that's enough for you to know that Trauma Queens are great band. This is stuff that will get you, it will grab
your heart, eat your soul and put your mind on fire. All 7 songs are killers!!

| THE WILLOWZ 2-song CDr, 2002 |
 |
So there is a whole scene coming with this new breed of garage bands. That's probably thanks to some bands that made it and became famous
(Hives, White Stripes, Strokes ...). Well it was time for some renewal in garage scene. I don't know if I like all these new bands, but most of them
are ok. The Willowz are pretty good. It's garage strongly influenced by early punk and of course touch of this new garage scene. There is
something that reminds me on Velvets here too - probably vocal. Their info says they already have a release on Wanker Records and if I guess it
good this is single that should come out on Posh Boy Records or maybe it's already out, but that's not very clear to me. Well if it's the single it's
good and you should get it. I like "Think Again" a bit more than "That Willowz Feelin' " - it's slightly more energetic and has this great guitar riff.

WISEGUY "ELEVEN PLACES OF CALL" CD, Stardumb Records 2003 |
 |
Stardumb Records has always some nice surprises for us. I was expecting one more pop punk band when I saw these 4 kids on the
inner sleeve of this CD. And woooow, these kids rock and kick ass. They are influenced by famous (at least here in Holland) dutch hard
rock'n'roll band Peter Pan SpeedRock, only Wise-guys are like 10 years younger. I better go to Rotterdam soon and check what the hell is
happening there, maybe there are more bands like this. I love this steaming hot, hard shooting hurricane rock'n'roll!!!!
