FREDDY AND THE FOUR GONE CONCLUSIONS "WIGGED OUT SOUNDS" CD, Get Hip Recordings 2002
Everything from Freddy Fortune and his bands is great party. Great mix of different 60s styles melted into their own: folk punk, garage, freakbeat, psych, beat, mod. Freddy And The Four Gone Conclusions are great songwriters too. It's difficult to choose favorites, but I really like "I've Been Waiting" - great and funny My Generation rip off, it's so obvious but so great. This CD is great collection of neo 60s garage punk tunes. I like that songs are pretty different, but still it's compact sound of one band. I really enjoy listening to this CD and I hope you'll enjoy it too.

GARAGE 13 "TONIGHT" 7", Bad Attitude 2003
When you see this sleeve it really doesn't look like it will sound like Stooges kind of stuff. Guys, why did you make such ugly sleeve???? "Tonight" is slight "Search And Destroy" rip off, but who cares - it's great song anyway. Garage 13 is pretty good band in early 70s glam punk / metallic punk style. They write good songs, catchy enough to move your lazy ass. It's one more great surprise from Scandinavia - Finland.

GASOLHEADS "ACTION / NO REACTION bw TOP OF THE TREE" 7", Yakisakana Records 2003
New 7" by this French punk band. Side A sounds 77 punk but then little bit trashy (in modern way), nice and loud guitar riff, screaming vocal and catchy chorus. B side is with slight Stooges influence. It's short, it's raw, it's just the way punk should be!!

HATEMACHINE ZINE ISSUE #1 + ISSUE #2 (38 pages; 21,5 cm x 14 cm)
Here are 1st two issues of cool zine Hatemachine from Eugene, Oregon.
Issue #1 - interviews: radio show Route 666, Deadbolt; articles : Taxi Driver, Ozzy And Ozbourns; Reviews: Epoxies, Von Steins, Pagans, Meteors, Hellacopters, Richard Hell ...
Issue #2 - This zine is not only about punk and r'n'r, you can also read articles about politics, books and movie reviews. It's not very big zine, but it contains lot of interesting text inside: interviews with Dragstrip Riot, radio show Route 666, Deadbolt; book review "Tokyo Underworld" (about Japanese mafia) + cool record reviews - I specially like that it's not only about punk rock, but also great rap albums like NWA, Dr. Dre, articles : Taxi Driver, Ozzy And Ozbourns; more reviews: Epoxies, Von Steins, Pagans, Meteors, Hellacopters, Richard Hell ...
In both issues you have "Diary Of Hatemachine", so you get to know all crazy stuff that happens to Rocco the Hatemachine guy. I guess this make Hatemachine pretty unique zine.
Rocco is also announcing "The Las Vegas Rockaround!" that will take place 26-28 September in Gold Coast Hotel And Casino - featuring: Andre Williams, Rudy Raymore, Untamed Youth, Paladins, Polecats, Guana Batz, Los Straitjackets, Neanderthals, Gore Gore Girls, Cynics and many others. Sounds good to me! So if you can make it make sure to be there!!!

HIGGINS "COMERCIAL BRAKE" CD, Jsntgm 2002
Higgins - sounds like a band, but it's actually one man punk band - Andy Higgins. This is the first time I hear something like this and I'm sorry, but I can't say I dig it. I really miss the rest of band. There is no energy and no power in this. It's just one guy playing his punk songs on guitar with commercial breaks in between. Maybe this would sound good with a band, but like this it just sounds empty. Punk is not hippy music for singer songwriters. Sorry, but definitely not my cup of tea.
