LOS NATAS "TOBA-TRANCE" CD, Ektro Records, 2003
This is new CD from Los Natas. I have to say that I liked their previous CD bit more. This is much more psychedelic and there is no vocal. I really miss hard and psychotic parts they had before. Don't get me wrong here, this is not bad at all. It's trippy and hallucinating CD that you can get high with and see all the colors of the world. But it's just a bit too dreamy for me.

ORUZJEM PROTIVU OTMICARA "MASTOPLOV" CD, System Records 2002
This is new album of really cool power pop band from Belgrade, Serbia And Montenegro - "Mastoplov" (Fantasy Machine). Sounds like Yum Yums meet Elastica. Best power pop with great girl vocal strongly influenced by late 70s early 80s bands in style of Buzzcocks and other more or less known UK bands from same period, but there are also slight influences of brit and indie pop (well, it's more or less all the same). Songs are super catchy up tempo and if you are into this kind of stuff you should definitely check this out! Name of the band is weird - it means "With Weapons Against Kidnappers" and so are the lyrics. It's like you open a head of teenage girl and get lot of crazy stuff out of it. All songs are real killers - catchy as hell and you must sing along - even if you can't speak the language, you try to sing. Album starts really furious - 3 up tempo power pop killers + 4th song which is great cover of "I Only Wanna Be With You". They slow up a bit on "Ja U Mi Ne" (mid tempo indie pop), but won't take long till they speed up again with beautiful and catchy summer power pop "Ja I Ti". One of my favorites here is "TV" - funny song about guy who is watching TV whole day and can't see anything else. I think if this was in English it could be a hit on each college radio station.

THE REAL LOSERS "TIME TO LOSE" LP, Squirrel Records 2003
You can see the quality of some bands just by looking at the sleeve of their records. The Real Losers are one of them - when I saw this LP I knew it must be good. But this is not just good, this is really greeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. From mid 90s and bands like Superfly T.N.T's, Coyote Men, Cybermen, ... I didn't hear anything this good from UK. Real Losers are here and their music is slightly different from bands almost 10 years ago. It's super trash punk in Guitar Wolf style (maybe even better) with something pure English (Billy Childish, Downliners Sect, UK 77 punk bands - you know what I mean). I think that song titles say it all: "Total Teen Degenerate", "Gotta One Track Mind", "Jet Sonic Cheesecake Shake", "Cruise To Lose" ... If it's still not clear to you how great The Real Losers are, don't read fucking reviews, go get this record and blow up your head with it.

RETARDOS "KEEP WINNING" 7"EP, Pitshark 2003
I heard about this band for the first time on split 7" with Jed Whitey and they really blew me off - see the review bit further, but "Keep It Winning" sounds a bit too normal - it's nice Scandinavian style high energy punk rock with great chorus and hit potential. Personally I like B side more. I'm not sure, but it sounds like they have 2 lead singers. I really dig the one on B side. He has great Creeps like vocal. "Real Devil" is punky boogie rock - pretty cool.

THE RIOT ACT "THIS TOWN / TRIED SO HARD" 7", Snap Records 2003
Riot Act are nice neo 60s punk band probably from San Diego, California (at least that's where this record was recorded). It's good rhythm and blues with harmonica / garage. Songs are good. B side is maybe cover, but I don't know it. Anyway, I like "This Town" better. Nothing new, but far from bad - nice record.
