SUPERSUCKERS "SHAKE IT OFF" 7", Pitshark 2003
I was never big fan of Supersuckers, but their music is good fun, I borrowed their CDs from a friend and I really enjoyed them. "Shake It Off" is pretty commercial song and really great and it's pity that we can't see bands like Supersuckers on MTV. This 7" is already out of stock and when you hear it, you'll understand why.

THE TEARS "THE TEARS" CD, Trick Knee Productions 2003
THE TEARS "SHE AIN'T RIGHT" 7"EP, Bancroft Records 2003

New band from Algoma US. They were formed in 2002 with members of Take Offs, Strong Come Ons and Catholic Boys. Together with Mystery Girls they are the new breed of teenage garage punk from US. I'm glad there are finally some new sounds around. Well actually it's nothing really new, it's pure rock'n'roll, but the way they put it all together is new. I don't know if it's the sound or the screams or the way they write songs, but it sounds kinda different than most garage stuff. Mix of 60s punk, 77 punk, 80s garage and 90s trash punk - it can't be bad. The only thing is that I miss something in lyrics (not only by Tears, but most other new bands too - so don't get me wrong here, this is not critic for Tears only). Lyrics could be more rebellious. It's just about girls, boys, love, cars and in worse case alcohol. Or maybe I'm making things too complicated. Anyway, the music is great and you should definitely get this CD and 7"EP and you shouldn't miss them in your collection!!

THE TEENAGE KINGS "DON'T FOOL ME / NO WAY / BABY DON'T YOU FINE" 7"EP, Zurich Chainsaw Massacre
I don't get much stuff from Switzerland, but one of my favorite bands (Monsters) comes from the land of cheese and chocolate. Teenage Kings are great highway punk. I like them a lot 'cos there are no metal / hard rock influences. It's pure rockin' punk. Great short songs, catchy melodies, but very dirty guitars and vocal. It seems that these guys kick ass live too. I only hope it's not Heiniken what they're drinking on this picture - hee hee hee.

THE TRASSELS "HOLY HEAT / UNDERWORLD HERO" 7" Bad Attitude 2003
We already know this band from split with Motosierra. Hardrockin' punk in style of Hellacopters - as many other new Scandinavian bands. Trassels are from Finland. Good production, good songs, good riffs. The only problem is that we already heard so many bands in this style.

TROUBLE BOUND GOSPEL "IN THE MIDDLE FINGER JUNGLE" 7"EP, Sportin' Life Records 2003
Uh, here is one more - what I call - chaotic trash blues punk with good production. I'm sorry but I never liked Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Trouble Bound Gospel remind me a bit of them. I prefer stuff from Goodbye Boozy more. This is more indie alternative way of playing blues, but I prefer simple and primitive rock'n'roll. I'm probably not the right person to review this 7", cos objectively they could be very popular as they sound as good as bands you can read about in NME or even see on MTV.
