| THE HELLS "THE HELLS" CD, Artrocker 2003 |
Listening to some new bands from UK (Real Losers, Kawolchy ...), it seems like there is lot of fresh blood for garage punk on the island. Well, garage punk puritans wouldn't consider all these bands garage punk, but their roots are definitely in 60s punk. The music of The Hells is not easy to describe. It's weird mix of garage punk, Cramps, Stooges with touch of early Sonic Youth and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Two guitars, drums and great female vocal. Anyway, this mini album with 6 songs is unfortunately too short - I want to hear more from this great band !!!!!!

HENRY FIATS OPEN SORE "I WAS TEENAGE PRETTY BOY" 7"EP, 2003 Ken Rock |
Henry Fiats Open Sore are back with killer 7" - believe me they are better than ever!!!!! Trash punk with decent production not so supersonically fast and bit more melodic than usually - you get 4 great songs, you get one of the best records I heard lately. "I Was A Teenage Pretty Boy" is one of the best songs this band ever wrote - it reminds me a bit of the best Dictators stuff, but then 'of course more trashy. Other 3 songs are also great - I dig "Punk Squad" just a bit more than the other 2. Anyway, this record makes my day, week, month, year - life. Oh, I forgot, you also get pictures of the band members (you know like the ones with football players, Bruce Lee, Sandokan etc. in 70s and 80s). I think more bands should do this - I just bought a picture album for my trash punk idols collection.

A no.1 zine for punk rockers from all over the world - it's in English so don't wait and get your copy.

| THE HOT DOGS "THE HOT DOGS" CD, 2003 |
Sorry guys, I'm a vegetarian - I don't like hot dogs. It's not the food I'm eating. Ok, now get serious. Hot Dogs are weird mix of punk and country with ska, but with very irritating vocal - at least for me. Songs are also bit boring. No Hot Dogs for me, I prefer veggie dogs.

| THE INDIKATION "DON'T SEND US NO FLOWERS" 7"EP, Larsen Records 2003
I'm very late with this review but I still wanted to write it. It's one more great record by Indikation. 4 new songs, this time a bit more in psych garage freakbeat style. It's really fascinating how they do it 100% retro. If you ask me something about 60s garage, I will tell you Indikation is one of my favorite 60s bands. Really, they sound much better than many many old records I have in my collection. I heard they are busy with full length - I really can't wait!!!!!!! If you didn't hear this band yet, hurry with getting your copy - their records are getting obscure as rare 60s stuff.
