| OSCARS "BLOW YOURSELF UP" CD, 2003 |
Oscars EP begins nice and punky with 'Limited Offer', but turns into really cool nu wave post punk. They have good songs, loud punky guitar and that weird new wave post punk melodies from late 70s early 80s. Oscars are really cool band. I dig all songs, specially '280 ZX' and 'Problem Child Blues'. This CD is recorded by Alicja (Lost Sounds) and she did it very good - great trashy nu wave production. Only don't let this sleeve fool you - it look more like some hardcore band, but it's not.

PREACHER'S KIDS "WILD EMOTIONS" CD, Get Hip Recordings 2003 |
Finally one US band who is playing r'n'r in the way that only americans can do, and they do it definitely the best: punk'n'roll in style of Real Kids and New York Dolls with strong garage influence, but also slight touch of alter country in style of very early Violent Femmes or Green On Red. Great songs, cool production (sleeve says 2003, but it could be 1977) - you don't hear the difference. It's really difficult to choose the favorites. Songs vary in style - not too much, but enough and it makes this CD great and interesting to listen. Also all songs are done very good and you get feeling that you listen to some kind of 'The Best Of' album of band that has many records in discography. The only song I don't really like here is a bit pathetic "Don't Play With My Emotions". But, I really highly recommend this CD.

| RADIO REELERS "SHAKIN' AT THE PARTY" CD, Dead Beat Records 2003

"Rockin' At The Party" is one of the greatest punk rock records I ever heard. 1000% loaded with fast dirty raw r'n'r - punk'n'roll at its best. Radio Reelers play the riffs so angry and loud that I have feeling my speakers will blow up, I can almost see smoke coming out. This is perfect record to loose your weight. From the moment the needle touches the record you can't stand still. If you check the photo on the back cover - it's obvious that you must have Radio Reelers album in your record collection. Just look at all these empty beer bottles and records like Ramones, Teenage Head, Kamikazes, Devil Dogs ... You get 10 songs - all 10 are killers. From "My Stereo" to "Shakin' At The Party". Radio Reelers are definitely in my favorite bands top 10. So if you don't like them stop reading this zine - go turn on MTV.

| LOS RAW GOSPELS "DESPERATE BLUES" CD, 2003 |
Los Raw Gospels are multinational band from UK - one guy from Spain, another from Finland + Englishmen on drums. They have 2 guitars - no bass and they play some kind of "country-punk-a-billy-surf-zombie-blues&roll" and it's really the best name for their music. It's very primitive and very charming and entertaining as hell. All influences they named in their promo sheet I simply don't hear directly in their music - they really have very original sound and I guess they just play music they like on their own way. That's how it should be! They are weird, wild and psycho and I bet great band to see live - so guys come over to Holland and rock the place up. I hope somebody will put this FANTASTIC band on vinyl.

| RICKSHAW "SONIC OVERLOAD" CD, Devil Doll Records

Rickshaw are maybe not very famous, but they are good Scandinavian highway rock. They are active for few years and they have many releases. This is their 3rd album on Devil Doll rec. I already heard many Scandinavian bands in the same style and I'm a bit afraid that I'll get tired 'cos there's too much of this kind of stuff. But when I heard Rickshaw, I just like it. They are great fast and heavy rockin' punk with great screamy vocal, noisy and wah guitars, good rhythm section and great production. Most important are the songs of course, and Rickshaw have the talent to write them. My favorites are heavy glam rockin' 'I'm Ready!', fast and furious, high energy, hardcore 'White Light', 'All You Jazz' with cool and catchy chorus and great fast punk'n'roll 'Who's Your Bobby?'.
