THE ROMANTICS "61/49" CD
I was never very familiar with Romantics and their records. Well, they exist since 1977 and they have many records behind. "61/49" is their last album that is in the meantime probably out. It sounds ok, but nothings special. It's glam punk power pop with 60s touch. But you can really hear that they are veterans. They like to play rock'n'roll, but they lost a bit of their energy. It's probably nice to sit in pub, drink beer and have fun listening to this band.

SAVAGE LUCY "DEAD BOYS STAY DEAD" 7"EP, Squirrel Records 2004
I think I already wrote that Squirrel Records are one of my favorite new labels - Savage Lucy 7"EP only proves it. I already knew this band and I'm really glad they already released a 7"EP. Savage Lucy are US teenage girl punk band - probably the youngest punk band at this moment (13-14). They sound really great. If you know that all songs are recorded in a shed, than they sound super great. Honestly, there are bands who record in studios and get worse sound. I really love Savage Lucy's music (and their recordings). It sounds very wild, primitive, angry - fresh blood punk really needs. All 4 songs are really great - very fast punk with slight new wave influence. I heard that somebody from Briefs will produce their album - I really can't wait to hear it! Savage Lucy really kick ass. Hurry up and get this 7" before it's sold out.

SINGING DOGS "HELL BLUES" 7"EP, P. Trash Records
Singing Dogs are one of the best new garage trash punk bands. I don't know their exact discography, so I'm not sure if this is their 1st, 2nd or 3rd 7", but who cares. Guitar + drums - no bass, but lot of energy, lot of anger, cool songs, lot of trash = 100% punk. This 4 song Ep really kicks ass!

SINGING DOGS "L.A.D.F." 7"EP, Lo-Fi Records 2003
It's not very clear to me if the Singing Dogs were trio and then duo, or first duo and then trio. Well, on this 7"EP, they are trio. Songs were recorded in 2002. This is one of the best records ever released - when you add bass to such great band like Singing Dogs, you can only get trash punk masterpiece!!! "Good For Nothing, Baby" is superfast rockin' trash 77 punk. B side is recorded live, but recordings sound really great. It's trashy, but have even better quality than many studio recordings I heard. Anyway, I hope they'll keep the bass player and make more great records!!

THE SIRENS "CHEZ MAXIMES" 7"EP, Wiped Out Records 2003
I'm big fan of glam punk and glam rock so I dig this 7"EP a lot. the Sirens are all girl glam punk rock attraction from US including members of Gore Gore Girls and Come Ons. Muffy Kroha is sister of Dan Gories. Only a small disappointment is that all songs on this 7" are covers - well they are done great, but in the same style as the originals. I don't see a point in that, girls don't be lazy and write some songs, I bet you can do it - maybe even better than your idols. But, ok - what you get here is really great and cool record. Sirens have great potential, good fat sound, great glam guitar, great vocal, very solid rhythm section and they know how to rock and roll. Production is also really great, a bit raw and dirty - mid 70s style.
