| THE WILD WEEK-END - S/T CD, Nicotine Records 2004
The Wild Week-End are from Italy and they play modern version of kbd punk with slight garage power pop influence. It's not bad, but it's not so great. I think I won't play this CD very often. Songs have lot of energy, good production, but they are unfortunately not catchy enough to keep hanging in my ears. Don't get me wrong The Wild Week-End sounds like band that's good fun live, but they need little bit more so their music can function on the stereo in your room. There are few good songs and it's pitty that the rest is not in the same vain. I really like "Lies" and "Don't Tease Me".

THE WISHER, 2002
Director: Gavin Wilding
Starring: Ron Silver, Liane Balaban, Drew Lachey ...
The Wisher could have been one of the best horror movies ever. Almost everything is great in this movie. Story is about horror movie that turns people into paranoids. I never saw movie with such story and I really like it. Acting is really great - very realistic. All actors are really cool. I specially like the main girl character played by Liane Balaban (I guess). She is not usual stupid screamy cheerleader girl nor super clever fearless schoolgirl. She is just a normal girl with all her problems and fears. Story is build up really cool, but the end is a little bit cliche, just like they lost inspiration at the last moment. Unfortunately 'cos it could have been super cool horror movie. But, anyway it's good and fun to watch movie. I recommend it.

| SPLIT - FREEWAY JACKALS / HOLLYWOODS, Black Juju Records, 45 Records
The Holywoods are already known to No Brains readers. 2 new tracks and 2 great garage surf killer instros: "Graveyard Rumble" - great trash garage surf horror, very scary! + "Angel Fuck" - Misfits cover, one of my favorite Misfits' songs, "Angel Fuck" is so melodic and so trashy and Hollywoods did the real thing 'cos it sounds like it was always a surf song. Hollywoods rule and they are so fucking great! Freeway Jackals are Swedish girl fronted super fast psychobilly band, very punky, very raw with double bass and cool rockin' psycho punk guitar. This EP is great!

| SPLIT - MR GARCIA vs JOHNNY GENTLEHAND "ONE MAN BAND EXPLOSION" 7"EP, One Man Records |
When I opened this envelope and saw this 7" I thought - oh no - not one more 'one man bad'. Well, you know me, I'm always skeptical about one or two man bands. But first tunes of Mr Garcia put a smile on my face and I knew these 2 one man bands were different. I guess if you can do it, you know how to do it, you can do it - on your own or with the whole band - it doesn't matter much. Both one man bands sound actually pretty much as a whole band. Cool trashy garage punk r'n'r blues, good songs and great vocals. I also love the guitar sound! Everything sounds very primitive and I only hope these 2 guys can manage to do this live too.

| V.A. "TRUCKIN IN THE FREE WORLD" CD, Ranch Records
"Truckin In The Free World" is compilation with bands from Finland (I guess) who released stuff on Ranch Records and family (other labels they distribute). Every band has2 songs. Flaming Sideburns are first. Well we already know them, so I'll keep it short - they kick ass as always. Mannhai play a little bit old fashioned - 80s - metal injected with punk energy. Honestly is sounds pretty cool - specially 2nd song "Spiritraiser" from their album "Evil Under The Sun". I hope to hear more from this band. They are not 100% what I like, but they sound very interesting. Thee Ultra Bimboos are also not so unknown, so I hope you already know them. Their 2 songs are great - real killers, cool punky power pop with some 60s influences and catchy as hell. Only funny thing is they wrote one if the tracks is B side from CD single - I didn't know CDs have A and B side - hahaha. Heaven'n'Hell are too metal for my taste, so I'm really not the right person to review their music. I like Motorhead and this sounds more like Iron Maiden. The Mutants are next - what a difference (ha ha ha). This is music for my ears!!! I adore these guys, but unfortunately these 2 songs are from "Woodoo Blues, I already reviewed last time. The Black League sound like COS bands (Antiseen and co.) - raw and punky metal. Well, the next title says lot about them - "Cold Women And Warm Beer". I guess you understand what kind of music they play. They are OK. Lemonator are definitely my taste, boring indie in Radiohead way - terrrrrrrible. Sorry guys I guess you are not so bad, but I just can't sand this kind of music. By the way you do sound better than Radiohead. The last song is remix of Mutants' "Caligula". I'm a little bit disappointed. I really like "Caligula", but the remix is little bit too normal. It sounds like somebody just took some rhythm sample and put it in loop as background for Mutants' song. Rhythm sounds a bit old fashioned (like 10 or more years old) and honestly this can be done much better. Pity 'cos I really expected much more. "Trackin In The Free World" is cool CD. According to sleeve it's one of those cheapo CDs for information about labels and their new stuff. So if you want to hear more from these bands you can check out Ranch Records for their full length albums.
